Phoenix Tears, also known as Rick Simpson Oil, are concentrated cannabis oils that have shown promise in treating a wide range of serious medical conditions. Phoenix Tears were created by Rick Simpson, a Canadian who successfully used them to treat his skin cancer.
Rick was diagnosed with basal cell carcinoma in the early 2000s. He had previously used cannabis to treat a number of symptoms originating from a prior accident. Upon being diagnosed with skin cancer, he researched the ability of cannabis to treat his condition, finding encouragement in laboratory studies that successfully used THC to kill cancer cells in mice. Rick applied cannabis oils to his skin cancer and immediately saw progress. After a number of days, his cancerous lesions began to disappear.
After defeating his cancer with cannabis oils, Rick began cultivating his own cannabis and creating his own kind of specialized concentrated oils, now named Phoenix Tears. He began distributing these oils free of charge to those who needed them, eventually treating over 5,000 individuals. Despite pressure from police and unsupportive doctors, Rick continues to preach the effectiveness of his oils to this day.
How Do You Take Phoenix Tears?
Most people prefer to take Phoenix Tears sublingually, topically, or as an edible. When taken sublingually, the effects can be felt within minutes, peaking within a couple of hours. Very small doses are needed to produce effects. It is recommended that you start with a drop about the size of half a grain of rice and move upwards from there, as your tolerance begins to build.
Some Phoenix Tears products can have a bitter taste. As such, some people prefer to swallow it directly instead of applying it sublingually. When ingested as an edible, the oils can be mixed with other foods or liquids in order to improve their taste. Common foods used include pudding, yogurt, and soft fruits like banana slices.
If applying topically, simply apply the oil to the underside of a bandage and attach it to the desired spot.
Phoenix Tears can even be made at home. The process of producing Phoenix Tears is not that different from making Cannabutter or other concentrated cannabis oils. It is recommended that you use Indica strains in order to maximize the medical benefits of the plant. However, patients are encouraged to use whatever strains they find work best for their condition.
What Medical Conditions Can Phoenix Tears Treat?
While clinical research on the effectiveness of Phoenix Tears is still being conducted, anecdotal evidence would suggest that it is capable of treating a wide range of medical conditions. Cancerous lesions and tumours like those experienced by Rick Simpson are at least partially treatable with Phoenix Tears, but they are also effective in the treatment of other medical conditions such as multiple sclerosis, Crohn’s disease, epilepsy, migraines, and arthritis. It is also effective for treating conditions such as diabetes, insomnia, depression, blood pressure, and substance abuse withdrawal.
